MATCHHOUSE is a dynamic four piece rock band, coming out of Hollywood California. This band has been cutting their teeth in the Los Angeles local scene and performing at iconic Venues along the way. Soldered together with the power of the classic 70's era tones and the atmosphere of the 90's this band packs a heavy punch both on stage and in the studio.
The project became reality sometime in 2021, when the four minds came together. Vocalist/guitarist Ryan Law, lead guitarist Ryland Stevenson, bassist Anthony Ambrose, and drummer Chris James. Performing their first show in September 2021, and following it up with a show in Santa Monica. The band stayed driven to perform more, by December 2021 they had already performed at the Viper Room in West Hollywood, also known as "Johnny Depp's Joint", this place has seen the faces of many legends and underground icons.
However, the grind does not stop there. The band still had to deal with neighbors calling the police, placing noise complaints over rehearsals and writing sessions, cutting into their time significantly. Full of fire, MATCHHOUSE doubled down, performing back to back shows across a string of venues, sliding in free performances and appearances when possible. Building a relationship with their fans and a sound they could all resonate with. The brotherhood created amongst the four bandmates goes beyond shared memories on stage, facing some of life's toughest ups and downs on and off the road has made the band strongly bonded.
Transforming this life experience into sound, In 2023, MATCHHOUSE released their debut single "The Wire" and celebrated with a release party performance at the iconic Whisky a Go Go. Maintaining a performance heavy schedule, frequently performing The Viper Room and many other West Hollywood venues. The band was noticeably more seasoned in 2024, with every performance hitting harder than the one prior, the band focusing heavily on writing, working in the studio while keeping the road dog status they had became known for.
The single "Wrapped in Blue" was released in 2025, giving the world another track to bite on the band's sound and showcasing the band's sound. The guitar work in this song dials into what it feels like to see MATCHHOUSE live. When it comes to the bands live performances, they put on a great show, rocking out with high energy and attitude. Running off on improvisational guitar solos, it is evident that this band has spent time mastering how to entertain a crowd.
MATCHHOUSE announced their debut EP "Some Big Secret" coming sometime in 2026, followed up by the release of their latest single “Siren of the Fray”. As the band continues to work in studio and perform, it's clear that they plan to stick around. This is a hard working band that puts in their time on the road and has what it takes to move forward.
