"The Orwells’ Quiet Comeback”

The Orwells are a rock band from the Chicago area known for their wild energy and garage-punk sound. A few years back, they ran into serious trouble, in 2018, several members were accused of sexual misconduct. The band denied the claims but ended up breaking up soon after.
Despite all that, they quietly got back together and started playing live shows again around 2023. They haven’t released any new albums since their self-titled one in 2019, which they put out on their own after losing their record deal. That album had no cover art, just a blank square, because they were working with almost no budget. The current members of the band are Mario Cuomo (lead singer), Dominic Corso (guitar), Grant Brinner (bass), Henry Brinner (drums), and Caleb Tucker (guitar). Former guitarist Matt O’Keefe left the band and was replace by Caleb.
Since their return, they’ve been touring small venues across the U.S. Fans who’ve seen them live say they still bring the same raw energy, especially frontman Mario Cuomo. Houndmouth has 3 shows coming up this month (August). They are at the Jenks Club in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, the Bottle & Cork in Dewey Beach, DE, and New Realm Brewing in Virginia Beach, VA. More event dates are listed on their Spotify.
They’re not making a big media splash, but they’re active, posting tour dates online and keeping their website up. Whether they’ll release new music or stay focused on live gigs has not been announced yet.
