The upcoming camping festival in Oakdale, Louisiana is the Fête du Void, taking place from October 1–3, 2026
Fête du Void translates from French as "Festival of the Void"
The "Void" Concept: Created by members of the Louisiana swamp-funk band The Iceman Special, the name originally stems from the acronym "Vision of Infinite Dimensions."
Fête du Void, an independent, fully volunteer-run 3-day camping, music, art, and wellness festival. It is more than a camping and music festival, it is an invitation to step outside the noise of everyday life and reconnect through music, nature, community, and healing. Built around the spirit of The Iceman Special, the festival creates an environment where people can gather, camp, discover music, share experiences, and simply exist together without the usual boundaries of everyday life.
Fête du Void feels like a natural extension of what The Iceman Special represents as a band. The belief that music can be more that something we listen to, it can also bring us together. Creating more than a festival, they’re creating a place to connect with something deeper them oneself. Featuring over 72 artists and performers across six hand-built stages (including an EDM stage built from an excavator), live art, immersive installations, food vendors, access to nature trails, and multiple watering holes.
I did a deep dive into a couple of the bands bringing heart and soul to the festivities this year:
The Iceman Special, is a four-piece psych-rock and "NOLA swamp funk" band that originally formed in the wetlands of Louisiana before transplanting themselves into the New Orleans music scene. They have built a reputation for high-energy, chaotic live shows and an incredibly distinct sound that blends local traditions with futuristic, spaced-out imagery. Blending dirty funk, psychedelic progressive rock, with disco and reggae undertones.
They have graduated from packed local clubs like Tipitina's and the Maple Leaf to playing the main stages at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and national events like Suwannee Hulaween. They love the weird, underground party culture so much that they actually host their own annual music festival called Fête du Void.

The Lineup:

Iguanahead, clawing their way through the Nashville scene since 2022. This three piece rock band in unapologetically raw, unpolished, introspective, and exploratory! Constantly shedding skin to reveal new influences and grooves with melodic riffs, and Lizardcore energy, the title of their first self released EP. Their musical style blends elements of alternative rock, psychedelic rock, garage punk, and heavy doom metal. Lizardcore (2025 EP) – Features their breakout single "Pressure", which was featured as a Local Artist of the Week on Nashville's Lightning 100 radio. Iguanahead is known for a rowdy, high-octane live presence born out of the skate parks on the outskirts of Music City. They host their own recurring underground festival vibe called Guanaroo and are staples at indie gatherings like Fête Du VOID

Chloe Marie, born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she grew up singing in choirs, participating in orchestras, and performing in musical theater productions. In 2016, she formed the five-piece neo-soul and funky band Alabaster Stag in Baton Rouge, serving as the front-woman and gaining regional traction by opening for prominent acts. Known for her soaring, soulful vocals, and for over a decade and has solidified her place as one of the New Orlean’s most promising emerging artist.
Featured as a “must see artist” in Gambit and Offbeat Magazine, performing at the Jazz & Heritage Festival, French Quarter Fest, and Black American Fest. After years of performing with ensemble groups, 2020 was the beginning of her solo music journey; picking up a guitar and giving the world a new set of fresh, Americana/Blues/Folk tunes.

Tickets/Cost: Available at Fête du Void Tickets. Prices increase by tier as the event gets closer; weekend passes and single-day Saturday passes (for October 3) are offered.
