Olivia told Soundwave Music Media that the band have “always put their fans before anything else,” with livestreams becoming a regular part of that connection. Those streams are not limited to promoting new releases — George and Olivia cook dinner, play unreleased music, talk openly about life in a band and spend time getting to know the people following them. That approach has helped turn their audience into something closer to a community than a conventional fanbase.

That growing connection is now moving into live venues. Olivia confirmed that Her Name Was? will head out on tour from September 19, giving the duo another opportunity to bring the community they have built online into a live setting. The run includes dates in London, Sheffield, Manchester and Brighton, marking their first tour and another significant step in the band’s independent growth.

Their most ambitious challenge, however, is still ahead. On January 8, Her Name Was? plan to release a 7-inch vinyl titled Daisy. Olivia described the project as being built around “a simple yet challenging question”: “Can a small independent band get to a UK #1 completely independently with the support of a small loyal following?” The goal is to sell out an initial batch of 500 copies ahead of release day, giving the record a real chance to climb the UK vinyl charts.

For Olivia, the point reaches beyond the chart position itself. She wants the project to show “that you don’t need a label, management or an expensive PR campaign to make a statement,” but that consistently building a genuine relationship with fans and bringing them into the journey can still make an impact on the UK music scene. Whether Daisy reaches number one remains to be seen, but that uncertainty is exactly what makes the experiment interesting. From iPad demos and livestreams to Abbey Road, a first tour and now a 500-copy chart challenge, Her Name Was? are putting their belief in community to the test — and giving their audience a real role in what happens next.
