Today’s story is on My Chemical Romance out of New Jersey. We've seen building interest around the band's now-extended tour following last year's raging success. Fans believe we may see a new release from the band very soon after a cryptic message was posted to their social media.

An unsettling command written in all caps saying, “A GAME YOU WILL PLAY” was sent boldly into the Instagram void yesterday. Could this be in reference to their upcoming tour that centers around a “Grand Immortal Dictator”? Or is this the start of a brand new era for My Chemical Romance? The only other clue we’ve been given is a moving graphic that says, “PHANTOM.” This word has been mentioned before in lyrics from their album The Black Parade, which turns 20 years old on October 26. This is relevant because MCR is currently celebrating this anniversary with a tour that started in 2025 and has extended into 2026 with stops all across the world. They’ve already grossed $88.5 million just in this tour’s first year—nearly matching the $91 million total of their 2022-2023 reunion—and with the journey set to continue, it’s highly possible that they’ll blow that record out of the water.

Even though they’re known for being architects of the emo scene, My Chemical Romance has cultivated a diverse fan base that’s been a sanctuary to misfits and outcasts from all walks of life. For example, the current leg of their “Long Live The Black Parade Tour” started January 25, 2026, in Lima, Peru, and their next stop will be three days later in Santiago, Chile. Other show locations will be in Mexico, North America, Asia, and Europe. As the haunting IG post came out just yesterday, the start date of this year’s tour schedule, we can only speculate on what we’re going to be getting from the band. Regardless, the message has been made clear: We WILL be playing their game, and we WILL keep an eye out around Halloween time when The Black Parade’s anniversary hits.
