"Acid Tongue Is Back with a Trippy New Album and More Groove Than Ever"

The Seattle band Acid Tongue—led by Guy Keltner and Ian Cunningham—is making noise again. They released their fourth album, Acid on the Dance Floor, on April 12, 2024. The sound? A wild mix of gritty rock, trippy psychedelia, funky rhythms, and even some glam and soul thrown in. It feels both nostalgic and fresh—like an old-school acid trip made for modern dance floors.
The title track, “Acid on the Dance Floor,” was inspired by Keltner’s own LSD adventures and late nights at clubs. It captures that weird, dizzy, exciting feeling you get when music hits just right and the world starts to blur.
As usual, the band brought in friends from all over the world, think Paris, London, New York, and Mexico City. Acid Tongue has always had a DIY spirit, and they’re still doing things their own way by releasing everything through their own label, Freakout Records.
The core duo is still Guy on vocals and guitar, and Ian on drums. When they play live, they often rotate musicians in and out, which keeps things spontaneous and raw. There's no official tour news yet for 2025, but given their track record, they’ll likely hit the road again soon.
