Sons of Silver are a Los Angeles based rock band that brings together experienced musicians with a shared love of powerful guitars, memorable melodies, and classic rock energy. Formed in 2019, the band combines the spirit of traditional rock with the edge of modern alternative rock. Although its members had already spent years working in the music business, Sons of Silver gave them a chance to start a new chapter together and create something of their own. Their music blends strong vocals, guitar driven arrangements, keyboards, and thoughtful songwriting, giving the group a sound that feels familiar to longtime rock fans while still appealing to newer audiences.
At the center of the band is singer and guitarist Peter Argyropoulos, also known as Pete RG. Before Sons of Silver came together, he had performed with the band Last December and released music under his own name. As his musical direction changed, he began moving toward a heavier rock sound, eventually joining forces with four other seasoned musicians. Lead guitarist Kevin Haaland previously played with Skillet, bassist Adam Kury is known for his work with Candlebox, and drummer Marc Slutsky has performed with artists including Adam Ant and Peter Murphy. Keyboardist Brina Kabler also contributes vocals and recording expertise. Together, the five musicians brought years of experience to a band that was new in name but far from new to the music business.
Sons of Silver began introducing their music in 2019 with songs including “Never Enough” and “Down.” The following year, they released their first EP, Doomsday Noises, which included “World on Fire” and the title track. The band also released “Quarantined in California” during the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when concerts were being canceled and musicians were struggling to connect with audiences. Despite the difficult circumstances, Sons of Silver began attracting attention in the rock world, with several songs from their early releases reaching Billboard's Active Rock chart. That early success gave the group encouragement to keep building its audience and developing its own identity.
In 2022, the band followed up with its second EP, Ordinary Sex Appeal, which included the single “Who's Gonna Stop Us.” The release helped keep the group's momentum going while its members continued writing and performing together. Rather than rushing into a full length album, Sons of Silver spent time developing their material and establishing themselves as a working rock band. Their songs explored personal struggles and wider concerns about the world, while their musical approach drew on the kind of guitar heavy rock that has filled concert halls for decades. The combination of experienced musicianship and accessible songwriting became an important part of their identity.
A major milestone arrived on January 10, 2025, when Sons of Silver released their first full length studio album, Runaway Emotions. The ten-song record included tracks such as “Tell Me This,” “Just Getting Started,” “Giving It Back,” and “Running Out of Words.” The album allowed the band to explore its ideas on a larger scale and bring together the different strengths of its members. Argyropoulos's songwriting often looks at the struggles people face, the divisions that separate them, and the things they still have in common. The record attracted attention from rock publications, including Classic Rock and New Noise Magazine, helping to introduce the band to a wider audience.
After the album's release, Sons of Silver took their music on the road, including a 2025 tour with Myles Kennedy and Tim Montana. Playing in front of live audiences gave the band more opportunities to demonstrate how its songs worked outside the studio. In October 2025, the group released 7 Cities 7 Songs, a live collection featuring performances recorded in seven different cities. The release included songs such as “Read 'Em Their Rights,” “Ghosts,” “Tell Me This,” and “Hold Tight.” It captured the band doing what rock groups have done for generations: bringing musicians together onstage and allowing the songs to take on a life of their own in front of an audience.
By 2026, Sons of Silver were preparing their next studio album and introducing listeners to new material. The band released “Dreaming Dangerous” on July 10, 2026, followed by “Fire Between Us” later in the year. The musicians have explained that touring helped them become more comfortable trusting their performances and playing together naturally instead of relying heavily on additional studio layers. They also worked in a warehouse-style space in Venice Beach, California, where they could rehearse and record together. This approach reflected their desire to capture the chemistry between the musicians and preserve the feeling of a real band playing in the same room.
The next single, “Fever Run,” arrived on October 9, 2026, accompanied by an official video. The song continued to build anticipation for the band's forthcoming second full-length album. According to the band, the track deals with conflict, fear, and uncertainty, while encouraging listeners to keep moving forward rather than surrendering to difficult circumstances. Its release followed the earlier singles and offered another glimpse of the direction Sons of Silver were taking. As of November 2026, the band has been using these songs to introduce its next chapter, with the album's final release details best confirmed through an official announcement.
What makes Sons of Silver worth watching is that the band is not simply relying on its members' previous accomplishments. The musicians have come together to build a new identity through original songs, touring, and a shared commitment to rock music. Their experience gives them a solid foundation, but their future depends on what they create together. With Runaway Emotions establishing their first major album statement, a live release documenting their concert performances, and new singles pointing toward the next record, Sons of Silver continue to build their place in modern rock. For fans who appreciate strong vocals, memorable guitar riffs, and the spirit of classic rock mixed with a modern edge, this is a band with a story that is still unfolding.
