Duane Betts, guitarist, singer, songwriter. He is best known as a core member of the Allman Betts Band and for carrying forward the rich Southern rock tradition of his father, the legendary Dickey Betts.
Born into rock royalty as the son of Allman Brothers Band legend Dickey Betts, Duane grew up surrounded by music. He began playing at a young age and was always immersed in the world of the Allman Brothers from childhood. His father’s iconic slide guitar style and songwriting heavily influenced him, but Duane has worked hard to create his own voice and character while honoring that legacy.
Duane first gained wider attention as a member of Great Southern, his father’s band, and later co-founded the Allman Betts Band with Devon Allman in 2018. That group released two well-received albums and toured extensively, Carrying the torch of southern rock.
On his new solo album Isle of Hope, Duane Betts steps fully into the music. This album was released on June 12th 2026, the record hits home delivering on the soulful guitar playing and story telling Duane grew up on. Songs like “Heartache” are mellow and tell a strong story that pulls heart strings, while “Down to Houston” will make you want to boogie with its gritty licks and catchy lyrics. This album is one to listen to cover to cover.
sle of Hope was recorded at Dave Cobb’s studio in Savannah, Georgia, in a remarkably swift five-day session. The album takes its name from Isle of Hope, the coastal community just outside Savannah where it was written and recorded. Cobb, a nine-time Grammy winner known for his work with artists like Chris Stapleton, John Prine, Jason Isbell, and Sturgill Simpson, produced the sessions, bringing his signature clean, roots-forward sound to the project. The album was recorded with a tight group of musicians, it has a different feel than some of his previous work. It seems like this album is a bit more personal and it achieves the natural soulful sounds that the world has been chasing. Isle of Hope has been praised for its authenticity and musical maturity, marking a significant new chapter in Duane’s career where he truly breaks out on his own.
Duane has been actively touring in support of this new album, playing shows across the United States. His live performances blend material from Isle of Hope with classics from the Allman Betts Band catalog and occasional nods to his father’s legendary songs. The tour stops have been crazy, performing with incredible artist like Marcus King and other hard hitters. Having sit-ins and guitar solo collaborations making history on stage. Duane is not just carrying a torch, he building up rock culture.
