More than a decade after trading Dublin stages for California sun, the hard-charging power rock outfit ONOFF continues to deliver no-frills, high-octane live rock with a fresh spark. The trio, led by founder Paulie O’Noff (Paulie Daly), dropped two new singles in 2024 including the anthemic “Left on the Moon” and recently teased another unreleased track set to land later this year.
ONOFF is a straight forward power rock trio mixing punk snarl, bluesy grit, and melodic hooks that hit hard yet stay accessible. Formed in Dublin/Dundalk, Ireland in 2002, the band relocated to Sacramento in 2013 and has since created a loyal following across the West Coast through relentless touring and gnarly club shows that leave crowds buzzing.

Current lineup features Paulie O’Noff (Paulie Daly) on lead vocals and lead guitar as the main songwriter, Stevie “10 Bears” Bogan on drums and backing vocals, and Dave Hurrell on bass and backing vocals. They occasionally expand with a “Brass to Mouth” horn section for bigger stages, adding extra punch to their already explosive sound.

ONOFF first broke through in Ireland with their 2002 debut album “Hey Jack! You’re Late!”, which climbed to #7 on the Irish charts. Their 2008 follow-up “Don’t Take Our Word For It” reportedly moved over 130,000 copies in Europe and earned support slots with Fall Out Boy and Dropkick Murphys, building a strong international reputation early on.

After years of wild European runs filled with high-energy antics, the band sold everything and crossed the Atlantic in 2013 to chase new opportunities. Their first fully California made album, Reborn hit us in 2017, this marked a new chapter written, recorded, and mixed stateside, with standout tracks like “Keep That Fire Burning” gaining solid radio airplay on stations such as “98 Rock”.

Since landing in Sacramento, ONOFF has torn through legendary venues including the Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, Bottom of the Hill, Slim’s, and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, plus local favorites like Ace of Spades and Harlow’s. They have also landed prime-time TV performances on Good Day Sacramento and Fox 40, often tying in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations that highlight their Irish roots.

ONOFF kept the momentum rolling in 2024 with “Left on the Moon” (released June 2024, complete with official music video and live recordings) and “What Matters Most.” Thats not all they have released since 2017 you have“BLAH BLAH BLAH” (2022), “Closer” (feat. Dupree the BAY Bully, 2020), back to “Keep That Fire Burning” (2017). Fan favorites like “Hayley” and “Shame On What the Powers Have Done” continue to rack up steady streams, while recent live shows at spots like The Boardwalk in Orangevale and others have kept anticipation high with a teased of new song coming later in 2025.
