"The Calm Inside the Chaos"

(Artist Update)

Together Pangea’s album Eat Myself feels like opening a door to a familiar room that’s been rearranged while you were gone. The band has been around for a long time, and when they released this album on January 16, 2026, it was clear they weren’t trying to relive their younger, louder days. Instead, they sound like a group that’s lived some life, taken a few hits, and come back with something heavier—not just in sound, but in feeling.

The album starts out rough around the edges, in a good way. The opening song, “Eat Myself,” hits like a messy thought you can’t shake. The guitars are thick and gritty, and the mood is tense, like the band is trying to work something out in real time. Right away, you get the sense that this album is about looking inward, EVEN when it’s uncomfortable. As the record moves on, songs like “Home” and “Like Your Father” slow things down just enough to let the words sink in. These tracks feel personal, almost like a late-night conversation where people finally say the things they’ve been avoiding. There’s a lot of reflection here, on family, on habits, AND on how hard it can be to change even when you want to.

By the time you reach songs like “Halloween” and “Deep End,” the album starts to feel darker and more emotional. The music is heavier, sometimes hazy, sometimes loud, but never careless. You can hear influences from old grunge records and psychedelic rock bands, with layers of guitar stacked on top of each other, creating a hazy, ragged sound. “Hollywood Trash” and “Purple” bring back some of the band’s classic bite, but it’s sharper now. Instead of youthful rebellion, there’s frustration and honesty, it's like someone who’s tired of pretending things don’t bother them. These songs don’t shout for attention; they just tell it straight.

The back half of the album leans even more into atmosphere. Tracks like “Empty Church,” “Little Demon,” and “Molly Said” feel spaced-out and emotional, almost drifting. The lyrics touch on isolation, mistakes, and trying to make sense of yourself when the noise finally dies down. There’s a lonely beauty in these moments, and the production lets the songs breathe instead of rushing them. The album closes with “Burn the Hillsides,” which feels like a quiet release. It doesn’t wrap everything up neatly, but it doesn’t need to. It sounds like acceptance, not happiness exactly, but clarity. Like standing back and seeing things for what they are.

Overall, Eat Myself feels like Together Pangea growing into a new chapter. The wild garage-rock energy is still there, but it’s been shaped by time, reflection, and experience. This isn’t an album about partying or proving anything. It’s about facing yourself, flaws and all, and letting the music carry the weight.
