No Money Kids is a two-person band from Paris, started in 2013. It's just singer and guitarist Félix Matschulat and bassist/electronic whiz Jean-Marc (JM) Pelatan. They kicked off with casual jam sessions and blew up in the local indie music world with their rough, do-it-yourself style. Think gritty rock mixed with garage vibes, blues, and electronic beats, like a road trip through old American towns with motels and neon lights, but with a French twist.

They draw inspiration from bands like The Kills or Beck, and old blues guys like Junior Kimbrough. Félix's rough singing and sharp guitar team up with JM's steady bass and electronic sounds for something hypnotic and tense. Their past albums show growth: Trouble (2019) was wild and full of city-life frustration, Factory (Deluxe Edition) (2021) added more edge and cool lyrics, making them stars in France's fresh indie scene. By 2025, they had over 115,000 monthly listeners on Spotify. Their songs often talk about short-lived moments, fighting back, and lost American dreams, all with a smart, sarcastic edge.

On September 5, 2025, the French band No Money Kids dropped Fireworks (B-Side), a follow-up to their main album Fireworks from earlier that year (January 2025). This new one has 12 songs, lasts about 30 minutes, and takes each track from the original and makes them simpler and more personal, like home versions or live tweaks. It's put out by their label LQCG and available on spots like Spotify and Apple Music. The band called it their own "revisited" takes, focusing on basic sounds with a raw, bluesy feel mixed with some electronic bits.

It fits right in with their busy tour across Europe, where they play both the full versions and these stripped-down ones. This B-side came out while the band was getting more attention, thanks to the original album's good reviews and popular songs like their cover of "Makeba." By late September 2025, fans were sharing videos on Instagram and YouTube for songs like "For the Angel (B-Side)" and the title track, building some early excitement.

A few of the songs from this album include "Fireworks," "For the Angel," "Easy to fall down," "Still The Same," "Old City Blues," and "Story of the Man." Critics liked it a lot, calling it a solid rock album that's fun and sharp, even if it built on what they did before rather than totally changing things up. One review said it was like a "musical explosion" from beginning to end, and another praised how urgent and danceable it feels.

Fireworks (B-Side) shows why No Money Kids are so cool at telling stories through sound—they take their big 2025 hit and flip it into something cozy and real. It pulls you into their world of quick thrills and electronic grit, like a buddy sharing rough drafts of great ideas.
