The announcement follows a teaser on official Beatles social media channels, where Sir Paul McCartney and others shared a series of images featuring the numbers one through four on Instagram, stoking speculation ahead of the official reveal.

Titled Anthology 4, the new collection will include demos, session recordings, and other rare material, following in the footsteps of the original Anthology trilogy released between 1995 and 1996.

A full track listing has yet to be announced, and there is no indication that the set will include entirely unheard songs.

In addition to the music release, The Beatles Anthology book and documentary series are being remastered for streaming on Disney+, promising "The Beatles' story, in their own words."

The remastered series will feature a new ninth episode, offering never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage of Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr as they worked on the Anthology collections.

Giles Martin, son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin, has overseen new remasters of Anthology 1, 2, and 3. All four editions are set for release in a comprehensive box set this November.

The expansive 191-track collection will also include new mixes of "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love"—singles from Anthology 1 and 2—featuring vocals by the late John Lennon. Both tracks have been newly mixed by Electric Light Orchestra frontman Jeff Lynne, who produced the original songs.

This announcement follows the success of "Now And Then," The Beatles' so-called "last song," which topped charts in 2023 after artificial intelligence was used to isolate Lennon’s vocals from an archival demo.

The box set will feature the original liner notes from the first three anthologies, new commentary on Anthology 4 by Beatles historian Kevin Howlett, and an introduction drawn from 1996 interviews with the band’s confidant Derek Taylor.
