Turbowolf is a band from Bristol, England, formed in 2007. They’re known for being wildly unpredictable—mixing hard rock, punk, psychedelia, metal, and even electronic music into one chaotic sound. Imagine a band that throws all the rules out the window and then sets the rulebook on fire for good measure.

They kicked things off selling music through MySpace (throwback!), and fans quickly caught on to how wild and high-energy their live shows were. Early tracks like Avec! Avec! helped them grow a faithful following. Their music is loud, fast, and strange in the best way, sort of like if Queens of the Stone Age, The Hives, and a UFO full of synths had a jam session. One minute it’s heavy riffs, the next it’s cosmic weirdness.

Their debut album came out in 2011 and was an all-out audio assault—loud, clever, and bursting with imagination. The videos for “A Rose for the Crows” and “Read & Write” looked like psychedelic short films. The band started playing big festivals like Download and SXSW soon after. They released an EP of cover songs in 2012, turning tracks from MGMT, Jefferson Airplane, and The Hives into something totally their own, like dragging a tune through a rock ‘n’ roll funhouse.

Band members have come and gone over the years, but each new addition brought something fresh. These changes didn’t slow the band down—they just leaned harder into their eccentric style. Their second album titled Two Hands was released in 2015. This album refined their sound without losing the fire. The single “Rabbits Foot” became a fan favorite and got radio play. They toured hard with bands like Death From Above 1979, proving they were a rock powerhouse on stage.

In 2018, they released their album titled The Free Life. This album cranked up everything: groove, grit, and goofiness. Songs like “Domino” and “Very Bad” took listeners on a rollercoaster through spacey rock madness. They even had Mike Kerr from Royal Blood on board. Here’s where it gets a little crazy (and very Turbowolf), they teased a fourth album titled Quell: The Ever Changing Sorcerer of Past, Present & Future. It's supposedly dropping during the next solar eclipse. First song? Maybe called “Midnight Pineapple.” Seriously.

They’re not super mainstream, so they don't get a lot of media attention, but they’ve earned major respect from fellow musicians and fans who crave something unusual. Turbowolf isn’t just a band, they’re an experience. They make music that’s loud, smart, strange, and completely unforgettable.
