The Huligans emerged when four Finnish guys decided to make music for themselves and the strange entity they accidentally awakened in a basement rehearsal room. Their sound isn’t polished; it’s raw. This band feels like they recorded in an abandoned Soviet warehouse during a thunderstorm, and that might actually be true.

Their guitar sounds as if it’s passing through rusty machinery. Each note bends like metal under pressure, resembling a tortured scream that has echoed for years. The basslines pulse as if they want to break free from the track and physically confront you. Their current sound supposedly developed after someone fed a broken pedalboard whiskey and anger. Since then, they’ve only become darker. Rehearsals are rumored to end in fistfights, existential debates, or both.

There’s even a darker story. Some claim the band’s track “Explorer” contains a subsonic frequency that makes old speakers scream and sends rats running in circles. Others assert their lyrics are loosely based on prophetic nightmares from the drummer’s sleep paralysis episodes. One Finnish guy told Curtis that listening to The Huligans caused tinnitus in one ear and some sort of "clarity" in the other. Interpret that as you wish.

The most interesting part? They don’t seem to care. No promotions, no pleading, no nonsense. They release songs like throwing knives in the dark. No warning, no explanation. It’s as if they only create music when the stars align or when one of them has to vent enough anger to avoid punching drywall. Regardless, The Huligans don’t seek discovery.
