DeeOhGee, the genre-bending Nashville trio formerly known as Blackfoot Gypsies, has launched a bold new chapter with their latest single “49-50”, released as part of a vinyl-first initiative under the Buy Before You Stream banner. This marks the beginning of a year-long recording series called Follow the Song, where the band collaborates with rotating producers to capture raw, one-off musical moments.

The A-side is a studio-mastered track that fuses Delta blues phrasing with garage rock grit, while the B-side is a live recording from Somewhere Works in Wichita, KS—a creative space backed by the nonprofit Midtopia. The song itself is a bluesy fever dream, described as part protest chant, part surreal backwoods parable. It’s chaotic, soulful, and unmistakably DeeOhGee.

Their roots run deep in the Americana underground, having earned their stripes through relentless touring and electrifying live shows. As Blackfoot Gypsies, they shared stages with legends like Buddy Guy, Tyler Childers, and Dwight Yoakam. Post-pandemic, they rebranded as DeeOhGee—a nod to a Waylon Jennings lyric—and embraced a more experimental, genre-fluid identity.
