The Ries Brothers (pronounced “Rees”) are a super-talented duo from Clearwater, Florida, made up of two brothers, Charlie Ries and Kevin Ries. They blend a lot of styles like classic rock, reggae, blues, funk, soul, and even a bit of pop, into something that feels fresh, fun, and powerful. They're known for amazing live shows, impressive skills, and a unique setup that makes them stand out.

Charlie and Kevin grew up in a music-loving home. They were inspired by all kinds of artists, from The Beatles and The Police to Sublime and John Mayer. They started playing music together as kids and were performing live shows while still in high school. What makes Charlie really special is that he figured out how to sing, play drums, and keyboard bass all at the same time, not something you see every day. Together with Kevin’s slick guitar playing and backup vocals, they created a full-band sound with just the two of them. They started out playing local shows around Florida, when a person working for the band Chicago heard them and helped them establish a relationship with the band.

One of their first big opportunities came when they were invited to open for the band CHICAGO (yes, the legendary classic rock group) on tour. They played over 16 shows with them across the country. That tour gave them a huge boost and soon they were touring with popular bands like: G. Love & Special Sauce, 311, Slightly Stoopid, SOJA, and Iya Terra, showing they can fit into multiple music scenes.

In 2017, the duo released their album titled The View from the Outside. This album has 13 songs on it that include "It's Never Me," "Closer to You," "Echoing Dream," "Run to the Sea," "Sentimental Dreams," "Without You," and "Road Map." This album was produced by Ted Bowne from the reggae-rock band Passafire. Ries Brothers released their next album titled Paint Your Emotion in 2020. This album has 10 tracks on it that include "Tennessee," "Save You," "No More Lonely Nights," "My Friends," "Hold On," and "Morphine." The songs dive into deeper feelings and show how much the brothers had grown as artists.

The Ries Brothers have toured across the country, headlining their own shows and supporting artists like David Shaw of The Revivalists. They’ve performed at Cali Vibes, Reggae Rise Up, Shaky Knees, Montana Hemp Fest, and more. They also opened for 311 and played on the 311 Cruise twice. In 2025, they have released 3 new singles. "Coming Out Swinging" was released in March 2025, "Destination Unknown," was released in April 2025, and "Golden Sun" with Nick Hexum was released in May 2025. Maybe there is a new album coming soon???
