“From Prairie Roots to Philosophical Flow: Liam Duncan’s Expansive New Album Shines”
(Artist Update)

Boy Golden, the Canadian-based songwriter born Liam Duncan, has released his latest album "Best of Our Possible Lives" on February 13, 2026, through Six Shooter Records. This marks his fourth full-length effort, following the alt-country lean of his 2021 debut "Church of Better Daze" and the 2023 "For Jimmy" EP. Here, Duncan expands the palette—still rooted in folk and roots rock, but weaving in classic touches, introspective melodies, and a broader, more exploratory feel that moves beyond prairie confines without losing the grounded core.
Recorded and produced by Robbie Lackritz at Lucy’s Meat Market in Los Angeles, the sessions brought in a seasoned crew: Pino Palladino on bass (his work on D’Angelo’s "Voodoo" comes to mind for that deep, anchoring low end), alongside Abe Rounds, Gabe Noel, Joseph Shabason, FONTINE, and Austin Parachoniak. Lackritz, who’s worked with Robbie Robertson and Feist, delivers a warm, polished sound. This album has that analog warmth with the thoughtful space to paint a picture. The 12 tracks run just over 44 minutes, tight and deliberate, no filler.
Lyrically, Duncan pulls from personal philosophy, touching on Buddhist and Taoist threads of acceptance, presence, and flowing with what is. Connecting with the general search for peace, bring that chill mellow vibe to the music.
In an era where overproduced gloss often buries the real, Duncan’s independence shines, songs that speak plainly about doubt, small victories, and the grind of showing up. It’s rebellious in an age where corporatism has taken the minds of many. it’s the sound of someone who’s logged the miles, faced the questions, and emerged with something straightforward and human.
That will do it for this report on Boy Golden. Thank you for reading!!
