Jesse Welles’ new album Pilgrim is a heartfelt and powerful mix of folk and rock songs that talk about life, change, and what it means to find your way in the world. This is his fifth full-length album and follows a string of recent releases, including Middle (earlier in 2025) and Hells Welles (2024). Pilgrim is Jesse Welles’ way of exploring life’s big questions—like death, change, and what it means to live in a tech-driven world. He wraps these themes in storytelling and gritty vocals that feel real and personal. The sound mixes acoustic guitars, soulful harmonies, and even some modern effects.

Pilgrim has 11 songs on it that include “We’re All Gonna Die," "Gilgamesh," "Far from Home," “Philanthropist,” "Will The Computer Love The Sunset," "Wild Onions," and the album title "Pilgrim." Two artist sang with Jesse on a couple songs, Sierra Ferrell sings on “Far From Home,” adding a sweet Appalachian country vibe and Billy Strings, a well-known bluegrass guitarist, plays on “Philanthropist,” bringing in fast-picking energy. The songs have a full band sound with drums, bass, guitar, and thoughtful arrangements.

Jesse has built a name for himself recently as a modern protest singer, posting songs about things going on that we all face in this crazy world we all live in right now. But this album dives into more personal and poetic territory of things like growing up, questioning the world, and wondering what comes next. The title track “Pilgrim” sums it up, it’s about being on a path, looking for meaning, and learning from the road you walk.

Fans and critics alike are really enjoying Pilgrim. People online are calling it one of his most mature and moving albums yet. The songwriting is sharp, and the music has a timeless feel. Some fans say it’s the kind of album that will only get better with age. This album shows Jesse Welles growing not just as a songwriter, but as a complete artist. It mixes his love of old-school folk with modern themes and deeper emotions. It’s an album for fans of meaningful lyrics, rich storytelling, and music that actually says something.
