Today we are taking a look at the band, Plaid On Flannel. An alternative indie blues rock band based in Toronto, Canada, known for its prolific output and distinctive sound. Formed in 2011, the band has released over 80 songs, blending elements of blues, rock, and indie music to create a unique identity. Their music gives a nod to classic rock influences while maintaining a modern edge.

Plaid On Flannel emerged in Toronto’s vibrant music scene in 2011, led by singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Nolan Randall. The band’s name, a playful reference to the iconic plaid flannel shirt associated with grunge and rock culture, reflects their down-to-earth aesthetic and musical roots. Since their inception, they have been working hard, growing in the Canadian indie scene, focusing on crafting original material that resonates with fans of alternative and blues rock music.

The bands sound and production is one of great quality. Sharp cutting riffs and guitar leads pierce the airwaves and the vocals are soulful with a introspective storytelling style. Plaid On Flannel's discography includes five full length albums and a bag of singles and EPs. with notable releases such as the Get On! EP (2017), which includes tracks like “Switching Gears,” “Get On!,” “Heroes & Villains,” and “Something On Your Mind.” The EP showcases their ability to blend catchy hooks with emotionally charged lyrics.

More recently the band has released a new single, "All Along". Crashing in with a smooth iconic riff and anthemetic sound and hard hitting lyrics. The song was released on March 31st 2025 and is the bands first release of 2025, all though it is rumored the band has more releases set to come for this year.

Not only has the band been growing their reputation in Canada, They have been expanding their fan-base to the United States and Europe. Dedicated to their rock roots we believe this band will only continue to grow and become a household name. New music like the release of "All Along" connected well with current time and fans are raving about the guitar work. Plaid On Flannel maintains an active calendar performing live and a presence on line continuing to grow on social media.
