"Whoopie Cat, the five-piece band from Melbourne, Australia"
Today, we bring you Whoopie Cat, the five-piece band from Melbourne, Australia...
It started in 2015 when Dan Smoo, Jesse Juzwin, Josh Brandon, Jaksen Juzwin, and Jo Eileen came together to form their band, Whoopie Cat. Since the band's formation, they have taken the Melbourne music scene by storm with their bluesy, hard rock, soulful sound and a touch of psychedelic rock.
Whoopie Cat released their self-titled EP, Whoopie Cat, on September 24, 2016. This EP has six songs on it, including "Amy Rose," "When She Goes," and "Sun Don't Shine." This release was well-received and helped them build a bigger fan base and brought them attention globally.
With the help of crowdfunding, on June 16, 2018, the band released the album Illusion of Choice. Tracks off this album include "Tell Me You'll Stay," "Gentle Goodbye," and "Sweet Jane." This album does not disappoint as it shows the maturity and growth of Whoopie Cat. On August 29, 2019, the band released a single (demo) titled "Boat Song."
The years 2020 and 2021 proved to be difficult for the music industry in general due to the COVID-19 pandemic. No worries though, Whoopie Cat went to work on their next album. On July 9, 2022, they released the single "Pretty Baby." This release was from their upcoming album, which brings us to May 30, 2023, and the release of Whoopie Cat's latest album titled Weight In Gold. This album has eight songs on it, including "Weight In Gold," "Fallen," and "So Below."
We are so extremely excited to see what the future has in store for the Whoopie Cat band. With this band's progress and determination, only time will tell!
